Livermore Stockmen's Rodeo Association support a "Yes" vote on Measure P in March 2020
January 12, 2020
The Livermore Stockmen’s Rodeo Association supports a “Yes” vote on Measure P on March 3, 2020.
Downtown Livermore has become an enjoyable place to gather, full of great places to have a meal, go shopping, and be entertained. It is our community’s backyard, full of self-investment and thriving businesses.
We fully support the construction of a hotel in the city council approved location on the southeast corner of South Livermore and Railroad Avenues. Building a hotel will continue the thriving economic vitality of Downtown Livermore so we can continue to share to the region all what Livermore has to offer.
Celebrating the heritage of Downtown Livermore, where four hotels once operated, the new hotel would bring back that place to stay and play for tourists to see and taste what Livermore continues to offer.
A “Yes” vote on Measure P on March 3, 2020 would build a beautiful boutique-style hotel upon the north entrance into Downtown Livermore, continuing the path to complete a local downtown plan that has had much community input and involvement.
A “No” vote could lead to state controlled housing construction under a new state law, AB 1486, signed by Governor Gavin Newsom in October 2019, and other transit-oriented housing legislation that would block any hotel possibility in Downtown Livermore. If Measure P does not pass, the state could take local control out of the construction process of downtown due to current and pending legislation, leading to potential high-rise housing of up to 12 stories throughout the adopted downtown plan area.
Join the Livermore Stockmen’s Rodeo Association this March and vote “Yes” on Measure P.
